Grundfreibetrag, Kindergeld und -freibeträge sollen ab 2021 steigen

Der Entwurf für ein „Zweites Familienentlastungsgesetz“ liegt vor (Bundestag und Bundesrat müssen noch zustimmen). Von der beabsichtigten Anhebung des Kindergelds und der -freibeträge werden ab 2021 insbesondere Familien mit Kindern profitieren. Zudem soll der Grundfreibetrag erhöht werden. |

Der Kinderfreibetrag soll ab 2021 von derzeit 5.172 EUR (2.586 EUR je Elternteil) auf 5.460 EUR (2.730 EUR je Elternteil) erhöht werden. Der Freibetrag für den Betreuungs- und Erziehungs- oder Ausbildungsbedarf soll von 2.640 EUR (1.320 EUR je Elternteil) auf 2.928 EUR (1.464 EUR je Elternteil) steigen.

Das Kindergeld soll um 15 EUR je Kind und Monat erhöht werden. Dies bedeutet ab 2021: jeweils 219 EUR für das erste und zweite Kind, 225 EUR für das dritte Kind und 250 EUR für jedes weitere Kind.

Der Grundfreibetrag, bis zu dessen Höhe keine Einkommensteuer gezahlt werden muss, soll von 9.408 EUR auf 9.696 EUR (2021) und 9.984 EUR (2022) steigen. Der Unterhaltshöchstbetrag wird dann an diese Werte angepasst.

Beachten Sie | In einer Anhörung des Finanzausschusses am 28.9.2020 hielten einige Sachverständige die geplante Entlastung von Familien für zu niedrig. Die weitere Entwicklung bleibt abzuwarten.
